Last month, I finally tried out the Miya HIMI Gouache set Katie got for me! It was my first time ever painting with gouache, as I’ve only ever worked with watercolor and acrylics, so it was fun trying to figure out this new medium.
Katie told me that it was like a mix between watercolor and acrylic, which I really found interesting. Watching Youtube tutorials helped a lot too because I was completely clueless about gouache and didn’t want to waste paint when I do decide to use it.
I have always been shy about my /paintings/ (bc I’m really not that very good lol), that it’s very rare for me to post or share it online. However, this time around, the series of paintings I got to work on really helped me a lot. The process was very therapeutic for me, carrying me through a really tough time. They may not be as perfect, or as exceptional, but I hope that seeing them can also make you/other people feel better and bring a little joy to your days.
In The Midst (March Calendar)

Over here, March usually signals the start of summer, so I thought that this patterned piece would make a great wallpaper for the month^^ I’ve also begun to fix my March screen using the AntNotes app for sticky notes!

Blossoms in Suspension
I don’t know why, but I have become very much attached to this particular painting. I don’t remember what I was thinking about exactly when I was working on it, I think I was in a bit of a daze. After finishing and looking at it, it felt like time stopped, like things were suspended in time? Something like that. So now everytime I see it, I always have that feeling or sensation. I rarely go for a warmer palette too, so this was so different for me and I really like it a lot. (I hope you do too!)
